Interior walk thrugh
With their first look below decks every sailor agrees that KITTIWAKE is a classic beauty. Her warmth and comfortable styling make her both a great place to entertain and a safe haven during passages.
From the base of the companionway to starboard is a true navigation station, with a teak chart table, including a hinged top. There is a full array of electronics, breaker panels for both 12 and 120 volt electrical systems. The main battery cut off switches, gauges for electric and bilge pump controls are located here. Adjacent to the chart table is the switch for the windlass and remote start for the generator. There is a full height hanging locker outboard and a comfortable high back nav seat. In addition, this locker provides storage for the emergency tiller.
Moving forward and to starboard is the galley. This is a well planned area with a large U-shaped Corian counter with high fiddle surround. On the aft side of the U ia a large refrigerator/freezer, which is both top and front loading, on the inboard side of the counter. To satisfy your cooking needs outboard is a 3- burner propane stove with oven. For clean-up, there is a large, deep double bowl stainless steel sink. The galley has storage of all shapes and sizes, behind or inside of cabinets and drawers. Above the stove is a two tiered, custom designed spice rack.
To port is the common head, with an additional private entrance from the aft cabin. This is a combination head, vanity, and shower with excellent storage within the vanity, which has a laminated counter top, with a large stainless steel sink. The head is a Raritan PEII. Natural ventilation in this area is supplied by an opening bronze port and an overhead dorade vent.
Just aft of the head is the guest cabin. Once again all cabinetry is made from oiled teak and natural spruce battens for the hull sides. This cabin has a large double berth with storage beneath, a hanging locker, and several reading lights and a central dome light for general illumination. Natural ventilation is provided by an opening port and a small overhead hatch as well as an electric fan and A/C diffuser.
Moving forward in the boat you find yourself in the saloon and dining area. You will find that all of the bulkheads, cabinetry, doors and trim are finished in oiled teak with white overhead. On the starboard side is an L-shaped settee that converts to a double berth. To port is a standard length settee, which for offshore passages becomes a great single sea berth. On the port bulkhead is a built-in wine cabinet, hanging glass storage on top and bottle storage below. For dining or entertaining there is a large removable drop leaf table.
Now forward to the master stateroom. This cabin has it's own private head with shower and full length mirror. There is also a large hanging locker, next to a vanity with a stainless steel sink with cabinet beneath it. The berth is a large v-berth with 6" custom mattress with two drawers and bin storage beneath. Access to the berth is facilitated by a step on each side of the berth. More high storage is located along the edges of the berth with louvered doors for ventilation. This entire space is beautifully finished in oiled teak. Natural light and ventilation is provided by several bronze opening ports and an overhead hatch and air conditioning diffuser.
Kittywake is a beautiful, professionally maintained yacht throughout.
